While in Eads, Co., we were told by two establishments that we were the first American bikers to come through this year. Now we know why...
RECORD LOWS AND WIND ADVISORIES!!
We are now in Leoti, Ks. and this was what was on the televison when we turned it on last night. It lasts for the entire month of May and there are actually people running all over the midwest looking for tornadoes. They found their first one yesterday in Hays, Ks. - North of us thankfully!
This is the beginning of our ride this morning. What do you think? Is he sick or having brake problems? You got it...brake problems. After yesterdays ride, I'm wondering if the brake was on all day yesterday!
When we got here yesterday, the area was under a severe storm watch until 2:00 a.m. This was a sign on the front of The Museum of the Plains. Nice to know.
OPEN: M-F 1:00 - 5:00 p.m.
Wrong! I'm glad there wasn't a tornado!
They're friendly though. One guy offered to let us come in and warm up. 29 degrees when we started riding this morning.
I guess a flag can only blow as far as the pole to which it is attached will allow it.
Lilacs, lilacs everywhere!
My absolute favorite flower and Steve likes them too as long as they're outside. Personally, I think he should just stay outside when the lilacs are brought in. J.K.
Some things never change. Dirty clothes need to be washed and ballet training lasts forever. That's a near perfect first position.
Witchita County Seat but nowhere to sit.
Screaming yellow has become our new favorite color. You can see it from a mile away.
This little papoose is on her mama's back 24/7 in the wind. We know how she feels!
Seriously some of the best authentic Mexican food we've ever had. And we thought it would be chicken fried steak and hamburgers all across Kansas. Glad we're wrong.
Tomorrow on to Scott City!
Please let the wind stop and the temperature warm!!
What fun you two are having. Now Clay is going to get some grand ideas...
